It’s no secret that I love Instagram. Like, I could sit for hours and go through my feed, then the stories, then the discover page, until I end up stalking some random person all the way back to their pics from October 2015. It’s an addiction, I’ll tell ya. But since I’ve decided to get into food/health/wellness blogging, I’ve drawn inspiration from many creative people on Instagram.
Instagram is a great place for creating community, especially surrounding food. These are some of my favorite people that have created a positive community around healthy eating and living. It’s hard to narrow my list down to just seven, but I think that these ladies have created incredible communities and started some really important conversations about leading a healthy lifestyle. In no particular order, here are my favorite healthy food Instagrammers. Feel free to check out their profiles, but keep in mind that many of them have blogs that they maintain regularly as well.
My favorite thing about Kait from @gypsykait is that she (and her photographer husband– let me know where I can find one of my own) absolutely love to travel and scope out the best restaurants for finding real, nourishing food. She shares her healthy living tips but also emphasizes the importance of finding balance and making sure that all foods fit.
i wish i could say i ate this bite by bite, savoring every second as i listened to the morning birds chirping, but that would be a lie. I ate it this in probably under 1 minute and have yolk all over my phone. #worthit paleo bread from @erewhon, @majesticgarlic hummus, @jjslonedaughterranch avocado, fresh dill, roasted purple cauliflower, a poached egg, chili flakes, sesame, and plenty of flaky sea salt. 🙌🏻 happy monday everyone! had such a journey-filled weekend offline, connecting back with ma supa bad self and its good to be back. wishing everyone a productive but relaxing day 😘 #leefromamerica
Lee of @leefromamerica is one of those people that seems to always have her sh*t together even if she doesn’t actually. Not only is her feed full of drool-worthy food, this self-care queen highlights other elements of her wellness journey, like meditation and birth control. She’s kinda my one-stop-shop for everything wellness related.
Since I’ve eaten this meal in some form approx 9 times this week, I figured I’d go ahead and post it, again 🤷🏼♀️ I can’t believe I’m just now trying @daveskillerbread … apparently I’m extremely late to the party & now I want to try them alllll including the bagels 🤤 #gimmeallthecarbs 🍞🥖🥐 • breakfast deets 👉🏼 2 slices of 21 whole grains & seeds @daveskillerbread / @kirklandsig_ almond butter, banana slices & cinnamon 🍌🥜 / plain @lovemyphilly cream cheese + red raspberry preserves / 2 eggs + spinach, red onion, bell peppers & @bragglivefoods nutritional yeast 🍳🌿🌶 • • HAPPY FREAKING FRIDAY you guys. Was this week eternal for anyone else orrrr just me? 😏 #TGIF #breakfastgoals
I think the reason I love Shanna’s Instagram is because she just seems like the down-to-earth midwest girl that I can resonate with. She works as a dietician, so she knows her sh*t. And she’s out here ballin’ on a budget. I can get behind that.
Another midwest girl, Sammy is best described as totally rad. She keeps it real about life and has the most adorable son that she often refers to as Chunk. Her feed is full of colorful food and so much positivity.
I love when my chia pudding is swimming in nut butter 😋 Headed back to LA this morning so I picked up this chia pudding and a salad bowl from @mahalosthlm for the flight home! I pack my meals for long flights in a cooler bag with an ice pack (or in this case 2-3 ice packs cause I’m traveling for 14 hours)
Okay, talk about dream job. Courtney works as Tove Lo’s nutritionist aka she gets to travel the world and discover the best healthy options out there. She’s also very vocal about her opinions on the f*cked up food industry, which is refreshing.
SPICY CHIPOTLE CASHEW CHEESE 🔥🧀 stuff is legit and i’m not gonna lie, nailed it with the flavors and texture. it tastes just like the one from @cafegratitude 💯 you know, that one i’m obsessed with..? now we can all make it at home and put it on EVERYTHANG 👌🏽 you’re welcome 🤤: 1C soaked cashews 1/2C mix of sunflower seeds + pumpkin seeds 1/2 small jalapeño without seeds as much himalayan pink salt and chipotle powder as you’d like. didn’t measure 🤷🏻♀️ 1/2 lemon juice 1tsp minced garlic start with 3/4C filtered hot water and then add on if you want it creamier. throw everything in a food processor and 🌪 get ittttt. store it in a glass jar and in the fridge. it’s only lasted a solid 3 days in our home. we use it as a spread for breakfast tacos, dip for siete chips, sweet potato + carrot fries, popcorn topper.. endless possibilities 😛 hope you love it as much as we do. enjoy your tuesday friends! #shutthekaleup #realfood #cleaneats
I feel like I’m a part of Jeannette’s family at this point. Not only is she sharing healthy recipes, but she’s chronicling motherhood and the day-to-day of her chemical-free lifestyle. She has this weird way about her that makes you feel like you’re BFFs. If you follow her, you know.

Kelly from @eatthegains is my go-to for fitness nutrition. She’s an avid Crossfitter and also prepares healthy meals for other people, so you know she’s legit. I like that her recipes are totally do-able for someone on a budget and she gives really clear instructions.
Honestly, most of my Insta feed at this point is food or wellness related. There are so many people who create inspiring content and create communities about healthy living. These are just a few of my faves.
